"Tall, narrow and full of art, new Sunny Isles Beach condo tower unveiled"

Article by: Miami Herald

Muse, a tall, narrow condominium unveiled for Sunny Isles Beach, will tout something different: a sculpture by artist Helidon Xhixha for each unit.

The 649-foot-high building — which will match the height of the Porsche Design Tower and Mansions at Acqualina, two other luxury projects in Sunny Isles Beach — will stretch to the maximum permitted in the area by the Federal Aviation Administration.

The skyscraper will feature spacious residences starting at 2,360 square feet, and will include two full-floor penthouses spanning more than 5,800 square feet with five bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths.

Muse is expected to begin taking reservations soon and to break ground in June.

Hollywood's Margaritaville on track to open in July 2015, developer says

By Sun Sentinel on February 20th, 2014

Hollywood has a message for tourists and locals heading to the beach: Pardon our dust, but we promise it'll be worth it.

The Jimmy Buffett-themed Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort broke ground in August and is still on track to open by July 2015, says developer Lon Tabatchnick.

"We're going great," Tabatchnick said of the $147 million project rising on 5 city-owned acres at Johnson Street and A1A. "We're up to the fifth floor. We're on schedule, on budget and on time."

The 349-room property will include seven restaurants and bars, oceanside pools, a FlowRider wave ride, spa and fitness center and 35,000 square feet of convention space.

In mid-2009, Hollywood sought development proposals for the city-owned parcel at Johnson Street and A1A. The following year, Tabatchnick's Margaritaville plan was chosen for its potential to transform the beach.

Trump Dumped For Conrad On Fort Lauderdale Beach

By exMiami Staff on January 9, 2014

Fort Lauderdale Beach's long-stalled Trump International Hotel and Tower has a new name and a new owner.

The 24-story Michael Gravers-designed building picks up the Conrad name, a luxury brand of Hilton that already has a property inside Brickell's Espirito Santo Bank building.

Sales are already underway. Units in the building are being sold at a starting price of $510,000 for a one-bedroom unit.

Phase II Renderings Drop Of Related's New River Yacht Club

Tuesday, February 18, 2014, by Sean McCaughan

NRYC2-1_zps900d5654.jpgA Curbed reader writes in with purported renderings of
Phase II of the Related Group's New River Yacht Club, which appeared on SkyscraperCity, and is the missing link of the Riverwalk. The building will allegedly be 435 feet tall, and 36 floors. Seven of those floors will be parking, and the tower will have 349 residential units. Meanwhile, Curbed has independent confirmed that the building will be situated along the river (which one can also see in the renderings) where a marina is now, next to the New River Yacht Club Phase I, which recently topped off.

Presuming that the neighboring Marina Lofts project doesn't get waylaid again, by another giant tree or something, and the real estate market doesn't implode in the meantime, this project will mean the linking of the two halfs of the Riverwalk on the New River's southern bank, which is kind of a big deal for a major civic project that's been coming together for decades and that will show the City of Miami down south what it could do if it got its act together with its River Walk. We don't mean to stoke the flames of competition between these two cities, but wait, yes we do.
